Anaergia hybrid-membrane technology chosen for California water reuse projects

The Victor Valley Wastewater Reclamation Authority (VVWRA) in California, US, has selected Anaergia’s FibrePlate hybrid-membrane technology for two sub-regional membrane bioreactor (MBR) facilities.

Located in high-growth areas of the service region, the MBR facilities will produce a combined two million gallons a day of high-quality effluent for landscape irrigation.

The sub-regional MBR facilities will provide a drought-proof supply of water, reducing the overall load on the collection system and enabling VVWRA to defer costly infrastructure expansion and reduce the energy costs associated with pumping recycled water. The exceptional membrane strength of FibrePlate is also expected to lower lifecycle costs for the projects.

VVWRA general manager Logan Olds said that the project will help to ensure the future sustainability and economic prosperity of the communities.
