BlueInGreen demonstrates injection system at US water treatment plant

Environmental technology company BlueInGreen has demonstrated its CDOX carbon dioxide injection technology at a municipal water treatment plant in a major city in the Midwest.

The CDOX system dissolves carbon dioxide (CO2) gas into a small quantity of the water in the treatment plant and later disperses the dissolved CO2 solution into the rest of the water. This adjusts the pH level and stabilises municipal/industrial water and wastewater.

Controlling the pH level allows desired chemical reactions to take place, getting rid of contaminants from the water.

The CDOX technology makes it possible to hold large amounts of gas within much smaller amounts of water than was previously possible.

Reduced pumping costs and lower capital costs can be achieved due to the smaller carrier stream. This allows smaller diameter piping, valves, flow meters, and other required components to be used.

BlueInGreen recently demonstrated the technology at a 120 million gallon per day drinking water facility in the Midwest. The CDOX system was able to achieve recarbonation using 40% less CO2 on average.
