H2O Innovation wins new oil and gas water treatment contracts

Canada-based water treatment solutions provider H2O Innovation has won new contracts totaling $6.5m in the energy sector of Western Canada.

The company will design, build and commission a potable water treatment package and a wastewater treatment package for a 2,300 person workers camp in Northern Alberta under the first two contracts.

H2O Innovation president and CEO Frederic Dugre said that this is the second mandate given to the company by this client after the delivery of two similar units in 2013.

"Our expertise in water purification and sewage treatment, our value-added design and our ability to execute and deliver on time are some of the key factors that have enabled us to secure this second project," Dugre added.

The water treatment plant is capable of producing 575m³ a day of fully treated potable water. It includes provision of raw water pumps, filtration using cartridge filters, ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis as well as chlorination prior to storage in an above-ground bolted steel potable water storage tank.

H2O Innovation will also supply a membrane bioreactor (MBR) wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 517.5m³ a day, to complement the potable water package at the camp. The MBR plant consists of a raw wastewater pump, anoxic and aerobic tanks, membrane tanks, ultraviolet light disinfection and discharge to an engineered disposal field.

The third contract will see the company design, build and commission a membrane-based water treatment package to treat well water for domestic use.

The new contracts bring the company’s order backlog for water treatment projects to $17.9m as of 13 January.
