Veolia-led consortium to renovate French wastewater treatment plant

9 February 2012

OTV, a subsidiary of Veolia Water Solutions and Technologies, has been selected by SIAAP to lead a consortium to renovate a wastewater treatment plant in Acheres, France.

As part of the €776.7m contract, the consortium has agreed to renovate the Seine Aval biological wastewater treatment plant.

Veolia Water Solutions and Technologies chairman and Veolia Water CEO Jean-Michel Herrewyn said the signing of this contract is recognition of OTV's expertise in the design and construction of plants that are exceptional both in terms of their size and in the technical prowess of the processes implemented.

SIAAP requires OTV to lead the project and coordinate all the participants including architects, design firms, civil engineering and wastewater treatment process companies, in the Biosav consortium.

OTV has also agreed to design and build the structures and supply the treatment process. The company will have a 25% share of the total revenue generated by the wastewater treatment facility.

The renovation involves the rebuild of a new and efficient biological treatment train and the transformation of the plant's core process, which involves designing an advanced treatment process, especially to deal with nitrogen.

Commissioning of the new facilities is planned for the end of 2017 and customers will continue to be served throughout the period of the renovation project.
