Everbright commissions eastern China wastewater treatment project

China Everbright International has completed construction and commenced operation of the Jinan Licheng Waste Water Treatment Project (Plant 3) Phase II.

Constructed on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis with a total investment of RMB195m ($31.6m), the project has a daily wastewater treatment capacity of 100,000m³. The combined daily wastewater treatment capacity of both phases of the project is 200,000m³.

The company’s four existing wastewater treatment plants have a total daily wastewater treatment capacity of 730,000m³. They all comply with the Grade 1A national wastewater discharge standard.

Everbright International CEO Chen Xiaoping said that environmental water is one of Everbright International’s major businesses, and Shandong province is a strategic region for the group.

"The commencement of commercial operation of Licheng Project Phase II demonstrates the group’s ongoing commitment to the environmental water market in Shandong province," Xiaoping said.
