Xylem and WaTech sign water technology cooperation agreement

Global water technology company Xylem has signed a cooperation agreement with Mekorot WaTech to evaluate new water technologies and accelerate the commercialisation of innovative products and services.

The two companies will jointly evaluate new technologies related to water security and quality, sustainable water and wastewater treatment and reuse and optimisation of the water supply.

Xylem CEO and president Steve Loranger said that innovation and advanced product development is at the core of Xylem’s business.

"As global leaders in water, our mission is to play a leading role in solving the multifaceted issues we all face in securing a safe and sustainable water supply," he said.

Mekorot CEO Simon Ben-Hamo said that the company is committed to identifying and building on new technologies.

"Our partnership with Xylem marks a new era in our mutual advancement in developing global state-of-the-art water sector products," Ben-Hamo added.

The cooperation agreement will also enable Xylem to test new products at Mekorot facilities as a way of demonstrating product viability and providing the opportunity to accelerate development.
