US City Plans $50m Sewer Project

The city of Lorain in Ohio, US, is to build a $50m sewage tunnel to prevent raw sewage flowing into Black River and Lake Erie.

The city’s council approved the project’s loan application to the Ohio Water Development Authority.

The project includes a sewage storage and conveyance tunnel, which will run through downtown Lorain to the PQM wastewater plant and Idaho pump station.

The 24ft-diameter tunnel will be built 100ft underground and is expected to be completed within three years, according to morningjournal.com.
