Brazilian State to Award Sanitation Contract

The Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul is to award a Rs1.2bn ($724m) contract for the provision of sanitation services to the city of Santa Cruz do Sul for 30 years.

Three companies – Corsan, which is the current concession holder, Aguas do Brasil and engineering firm Equipav – bidded for the project.

The tender proposals will be reviewed by the last week of February before the project is awarded, according to bnamericas.com.

The project will provide sanitation services to 122,500 people in Santa Cruz do Sul.
