Corsan to Provide Sanitation Services in Brazilian State

State water utility Corsan has agreed a 25-year concession contract to provide sanitation services for the town of Derrubadas in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul.

Under the terms of the contract Corsan will develop master water plans predominantly intended for sewerage service projects, which are required to secure federal funding under the national health foundation.

To double wastewater collection coverage in Rio Grande do Sul, Corsan president Arnaldo Dutra has pledged approximately $1.24bn in investments for 2011-14.
