Japan to Provide $600m for Bangladeshi Water Projects

Japan is to sign a loan agreement to provide $600m to Bangladesh for three major water projects.

The funds include $400m for the Padma multipurpose bridge, $160m for the Khulna water supply project and $65m for small and medium enterprises, reports financialexpress.com.

At a Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry meeting, Bangladesh Finance Minister AMA Muhith said that the agreement signing for the loans committed by the Japanese Government had been delayed because of the natural disasters that hit Japan in March.
