Corsan Seeks Funds for Brazilian Sanitation Works

Brazilian water utility Corsan has requested R$32m ($20.25m) from the federal government for sanitation works in the town of Nova Prata in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

A Corsan spokesperson said that the utility plans to spend R$20.4m on potable water works and R$11.6m on sewerage system works, reports bnamericas.com.

The potable water works include the installation of 13.7km of mains pipelines connecting to a system in the Estrada Fazenda do Pratinho II neighbourhood.

Under the sewerage system works, the utility will build a sewerage system for the Arroio Toledo basin, including a pumping station, treatment plants and a 15.2km collector pipeline.

Corsan expects to receive funding under phase II of the federal government’s growth acceleration plan.
