JICA to Provide Loan for Water Project in Morocco

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will provide a loan of up to 17.44bn yen ($225m) for the Fez and Meknes regions’ water supply project in Morocco.

The project will provide a stable supply of potable water in regional cities and individual water supply access to homes.

The scope of work will include improving the overall national water access rate, transitioning from common water taps to water supplied to individual homes in rural areas, and meeting the demand for water in Morocco.

The project will be implemented as a part of the TICAD support policy, and will benefit 2.3 million people in Morocco.
