Embasa to improve water supply and sewerage services in Brazilian city

Brazilian water and sewerage utility Embasa is to spend R$190m ($115m) on water supply and sewerage works in the city of Vitoria da Conquista, Bahia, Brazil.

The work will be carried out in two phases: the first phase includes expanding the utility’s integrated water supply system, which serves Vitoria da Conquista and the surrounding areas of Belo Campo and Tremedal.

In the second phase, Embasa will transform the area where a wastewater treatment plant is located into a recreational space.

Embasa provides 94.3% of the population with potable water and 34.6% with a wastewater collection service, reports bnamericas.com.
