NADB to Fund US City Water Project

North American Development Bank will provide $15m to finance the Paisano Valley Water Project in the City of El Paso, Texas.

The money, raised through a 20-year term Build America Bond programme by the city council, will replace the Paisano Valley water transmission line, which runs from the Canutillo well fields to Sunset Reservoir.

The project will replace the existing 36in pipeline with a 48in, bi-directional line to allow additional capacity during drought conditions.

Replacement of the 60-year-old waterline will also minimise chances of pipeline breaks reducing the risk of water losses, drinking water contamination and damage from excessive water spills.
