North American Wastewater Treatment Plants Upgrade to Cost $80bn: Report

Upgrades and expansion work on US and Canadian wastewater plants will cost over $80bn during the next five years, according to a new report.

McIlvaine’s North American Municipal Wastewater Treatment Facilities & People report says expansion work for North American facilities constitutes 15% of global wastewater spending.

Major investments include an $8bn expansion in Massachusetts, $1.2bn of upgrades in Oahu and a $1bn upgrade of the San Jose water treatment plant, according to environment-expert.com.
