Global Water Treatment Market to Reach $38.2bn

The global water treatment equipment and supplies market is expected to reach $38.2bn by 2015, according to a report by Global Industry Analysts.

Europe, Asia-Pacific and the US currently dominate the global market for water equipment and supplies with more than 70% market share.

The report says the municipal water treatment equipment and supplies market in Asia-Pacific is forecast to reach $4.2bn by 2013.

The analysis also claims population growth and rising awareness regarding detrimental effects of water contamination and government regulations will drive demand for water treatment products.

Increasing industrialisation, urbanisation and intensifying agricultural operations to meet increased food demand are also expected to contribute to demand for fresh water, driving the market further.
