Brazil Invests $235m in Water Project

The Brazilian state of Sao Paulo is investing $235m in its watershed recovery project between 2010 and 2016.

The project includes cleaning polluted streams, building local wastewater treatment systems and reducing pollution in water bodies.

Out of the total investment International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) will provide $130m for the project, while the remaining fund will come from different sources, including the state government.

The Alto Tiete watershed project will receive $60.5m, of which the state government will provide $56.5m and IBRD the remaining $4m, according to bnamericas.com.
