Hydro International appoints C & V Water to distribute water technologies in Romania

UK-based developer of innovative solutions for stormwater and wastewater management, Hydro International, has appointed C & V Water as the regional distributor to promote its water technologies in Romania.

The companies have entered a strategic business partnership, under which C & V Water will provide Hydro’s water and wastewater technologies in the Romania market.

Hydro is initially focusing on the promotion of its Grit King hydrodynamic vortex separator technology, which is a cost-effective, compact solution to clear grit from fresh potable water or wastewater during treatment.

The technology also does not use external power source.

Hydro International international business director Clive Evans was quoted by Water World as saying that the company has signed a distributorship agreement with C & V Water.

Removing grit from the water prevents machinery breakdown and reduces maintenance costs and it protects plants and machinery’s from early wear and tear due to grit particles.

"We have identified Romania as a strategic priority for Hydro as part of a major export growth program to select well-qualified business partners who can introduce our unique technologies to local markets," Evans added.

C & V Water managing director Catalin Negoita said, "We believe Hydro’s vortex separation technologies will be a great advantage to wastewater plant operators in Romania, who need sustainable, low-cost and small footprint equipment solutions to meet the huge challenge of improving water quality and sanitation in the country."

Hydro has selected Romania to promote its technologies as the country is receiving funding in billions of euros to construct new water and wastewater treatment plants, upgrade water infrastructure, and connect majority of the population to the sewerage network.

The funding is being used to meet the high standards of water and sewerage infrastructure set by the European Water Framework Directive.
