Singapore water treatment firm Hyflux to develop eco project in China

Singapore water treatment firm Hyflux Management and Consultancy (HMC), will develop eco and water-related facilities for the Hejiang Fobao Yulanshan Mountain Wetlands project in Sichuan Province, China.

The project is an ecological and environmentally friendly development comprising residential, commercial, recreational and tourism facilities.

The company has signed a six-month agreement with the Hejiang County People’s Government and Sichuan Hengxin Weiye Investment.

HMC and Sichuan Hengxin Weiye will work on the features with the government as well as the design and development of sustainable water infrastructure and other environmental features.

The deal will not have a material financial impact on Hyflux until 2014.

The company provides low-cost and sustainable services in seawater desalination, water recycling, wastewater treatment including membrane bioreactors and potable water treatment.

It operates Singapore’s first water recycling plant and first seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) desalination plant and China’s largest SWRO desalination plant in Tianjin City.
