VA Tech Signs Joint Venture with Zawawi Trading

VA Tech Wabag has signed a joint venture agreement with Oman’s Zawawi Trading Company to enter the operation and maintenance sector of Oman’s water industry.

VA Tech Wabag will float a subsidiary company in Oman with a 30% stake in the joint venture.

The joint venture will target contracts for the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment plants, sewage systems and water networks.

WA Tech Wabag is to begin construction of a desalination plant in Oman in March 2011, which will be completed by March 2013.
