Aboitiz Plans Ilaguen Hydropower Project in Philippines

SN Aboitiz Power, a joint venture of SN Power of Norway and Aboitiz Power, is to build the Ilaguen hydropower and bulk water reservoir project in the Philippines province of Isabela at a cost of PHP12.9bn ($290m).

The company is studying the viability of the project, according to Manila Standard Today.

The firm has applied for a service area permit from the Energy Department of the Philippines for the Ilaguen B hydro project, and the Agriculture, Agrarian Reform and Environment departments are spearheading the project with provincial governments and the private sector.

Once completed, the project will provide power to the towns of Ilaguen, San Agustin and Tumauini.
