GreenHunter acquires Texan land for water services facility

GreenHunter Water has executed a long-term agreement to lease five acres of surface and mineral rights in the Eagle Ford Shale region of South Texas, US, to develop a new commercial water services facility.

The leased area will include one or more salt water disposal wells, a treatment facility for oilfield produced water, frac water and drilling mud, and a frac tank lay-down yard.

The property is located in a high activity drilling region with 90% exploration and production drilling rigs in action.

GreenHunter Energy president and COO Jonathan Hoopes said that his management team would continue to explore additional opportunities in the Marcellus and Eagle Ford shale plays, and evaluate water service prospects in the Bakken Shale of North Dakota.
