US Invests in California Community Sanitation Projects

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced that it will fund $87m to Los Osos in California, US, to improve the community’s sanitation infrastructure.

The project is funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and the Water and Environmental Program, which will provide a low-interest loan and a $4m grant.

The funding will be used for the construction of a wastewater system to replace the community’s individual septic tanks.

The investment is expected to improve drinking water quality and reduce wastewater discharge, complying with US environmental protection requirements.
