The existing worldwide available Internet infrastructure with the standardised software protocols is used as the means of communication for this.
Especially in services, this opens up completely new ways in the areas of remote measured value monitoring, remote configuration, remote diagnosis.
System availability is also a fundamental point for the economic efficiency of a process; here, all services concerned with field instrumentation are offered a quick and cost-effective option for remote diagnosis.
This is a step further in the direction of predictive / preventive maintenance and provides the user and customer with a significant qualitative advantage.
Remote measured value monitoring
On the one hand, Fieldgate represents a Master that monitors the connected measuring points in cycles and manages the measured values in an internal database. On the other hand, a web server is integrated in the Fieldgate that makes it possible to access the data over the Internet via a TCP/IP protocol. What is special about this is that any Internet-capable PC can be used for this, without additional manufacturer-specific software.
Remote configuration/Remote diagnosis.
If the measuring points are not only to be monitored but remote diagnosis or remote configuration is also to be carried out, the corresponding software tools can be used.
